# Before you send your next job application

A free DigitalMinds checklist. Use it alongside your actual resume and the job description.

## 1. Match the role honestly
- [ ] Name the role you are applying for.
- [ ] Identify three important requirements in the job description.
- [ ] For each requirement you meet, point to a real project, qualification or example.
- [ ] Put your most relevant evidence where the reader can find it easily.
- [ ] Do not add skills or experience you cannot explain in an interview.

## 2. Make your experience specific
Use this structure: Action + context + verifiable outcome.

Draft: I did [specific action] for [project/context], resulting in [supported outcome].

A result can be a completed deliverable or an improvement you can explain. Do not invent numbers to fill the template.

## 3. Check the document you will send
- [ ] Remove sample names, placeholder text and unfinished sections.
- [ ] Confirm your email address, phone number and dates.
- [ ] Export and open the final PDF.
- [ ] Check page breaks and clipped text.
- [ ] Select and copy the PDF text to check basic readability; this is not an ATS score or guarantee.
- [ ] Test portfolio and contact links.
- [ ] Give the file a clear name, such as Firstname-Lastname-Resume.pdf.

## 4. Prepare for the conversation
- [ ] Prepare a short introduction relevant to this role.
- [ ] Choose one true example of solving a problem.
- [ ] Explain your role, actions and what you learned.
- [ ] Write two questions you want to ask the interviewer.

This checklist supports preparation. It does not guarantee selection, interviews or employment.
